/44 Round Individual Grinder
- 4 Wall Balls (20 lbs)
- 4 Pull-ups
- 4 Burpees
- 4 Dumbbell Snatches (30 lbs)*
I kept the weight light today as I'm still recovering and decided not to do power cleans at all. The back is getting better each day, but no sense in pushing it this close to Christmas.
We did this as an individual workout today with a 30-minute time cap. I think the last time we did it, it was a leapfrog partner workout, which made it much faster and allowed me to finish in 27 minutes and 33 seconds. Today going solo was a different beast entirely. I used a 30-pound dumbbell because of the back injury and moved pretty well considering.
We had a good group—Rusty May, Jim Levine, Steen, Chad, Whit, Jody, Matthew, Nuar, Jacob, Will Ensign, and Trey Joyner. Started with weightlifting, which was light due to the back injury, but I am feeling better and getting there. The Sots Press is humbling even with just the bar.
We finished with a core circle, then the closing circle where we offered up prayers for those in our lives who are having a hard time during the holidays. It's a tough season for many, and the brotherhood supports each other through it all. Jody won the belt today with the most votes—well deserved effort on those 44 rounds.
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and we'll do a workout with our neighbors up the road where we'll work out in both places. Should be fun to combine the groups for the holiday.
The Red Rocket Lounge meets at 5am in Chattanooga. We're fathers, business owners, and community leaders who show up before the sun to get better. Drop in for a visit or join the brotherhood.
