PHYSICAL STATUS
Sciatic still bothering me. Taking it steady but keeping moving. Some days you work with what you have.
First day back from anniversary week. Thirty years married, one week off training, and the body has to remember what work feels like all over again.
Started with lifting — clean and jerks, back squats up to 205, good mornings, and bent over rows. Nothing crazy, just getting the blood moving and the patterns firing again. Over 6,600 pounds moved before the real workout even started.
Curtis Ps are a special kind of torture. Power clean, front squat, push press, back squat, back rack push press. That's one rep. Do it ten times, then hit dips and GHD sit-ups. Four rounds of that madness.
My sciatic nerve decided to join the party today, reminding me that a week off doesn't erase the accumulated wear of decades. 17:34 to finish, while Builder crushed it in 14:49 and took home the chain. Some days you're the hammer, some days you're the nail. Today I was definitely the nail.
But that's the beauty of this place. You show up broken, you work with what you've got, and you leave slightly less broken than when you started. The sciatic will calm down, the fitness will return, and the work continues. That's what 30 years of marriage teaches you — consistency trumps perfection every time.
