/Rainy Morning DTs and Row-Bike Grind
- 12 Row Calories
- 1 Round of DT @ 95 lbs
- — 12 Deadlifts, 9 Hang Power Cleans, 6 Push Jerks
- 11 Bike Calories
- Rest 1 min between rounds
This was a great one. The format is simple and brutally effective: you row 12 calories, rip through a round of DT, bike 11 calories, then rest a minute. We all started on different stations and were easily able to get 6 people through this with only 2 bikes, 2 rowers, and 2 bars.
One round of DT is the perfect dose. At 95 pounds you can push the pace and make it hurt, or you can break it up and use the round as active recovery between the machines. Either way, you’re working. A round of DT at 155 lbs would be a completely different stimulus than hammering it at 95 like we did — and that’s what makes this format so scalable. This is a workout I brought back from years past, and it held up.
It was raining this morning so we moved the bikes and rowers partially inside, only stepping out for the DT rounds. Weather doesn’t stop the 5 AM crew — no rain days. It just changes the floor plan. After the work was done, we hit the sauna for a few minutes before heading into a busy day. That’s the deal: show up, do the work, and get on with your life better than you started.
The Red Rocket Lounge meets at 5am in Chattanooga. We’re fathers, business owners, and community leaders who show up before the sun to get better. Drop in for a visit or join the brotherhood.
