/Tag Team Throwdown and Barbell Work
- 300 Kettlebell Swings @ 53 lbs
- — Partner alternates 400m Runs while other swings
Wednesday morning and the garage was full. Eight guys, two dogs, and a whole lot of barbell work before the main event. We ran through back squats building to 205, then cycled through snatches, snatch high pulls, and snatch strict press. Nothing fancy, just reps and building weight. The kind of work that adds up when you do it week after week.
The conditioning piece was a tag team deal with Steen. Three hundred kettlebell swings at 53 pounds while your partner runs 400 meters, then you swap. The key is keeping the bell moving fast so each guy knocks out about 60 swings per rotation. I ended up running an extra 400 which put our time a little behind. Ethan and Alan took the win at 14:17 and earned the belt. Will Hunt won the belt for other reasons entirely.
June and Moose held down their posts as gym dogs. Over 9,000 pounds of barbell volume and nearly 16,000 pounds of kettlebell work before most people finish their first cup of coffee. That is the deal.
The Red Rocket Lounge meets at 5am in Chattanooga. We're fathers, business owners, and community leaders who show up before the sun to get better. Drop in for a visit or join the brotherhood.
